To be quite frank, I started this business as way to get out of the house. I did not really have a goal. I wanted to make money but also have fun. Now I have a goal of paying off previous debt and eventually helping contribute to buying our first home. :)
(Tracy Sanchez) I originally went into business to help take some of the weight of providing for our family off of my hubby's shoulders. When he got laid off, everything changed. Now I am in business to help pay our bills so that we don't lose our house and end up having to move back to Fremont to live with family!
I am in business for myself because I believe my family would benefit if I had a flexible schedule. A flexible schedule would allow me to take care of my daughters if they are sick, without feeling guilty for leaving my job. Flexibility will also allow me to make as little or as much money as I choose to, based on my activity level. The ability to control my own income is important because then I will determine how much I get paid, not someone else.
I am becoming a mom in January and I'm not willing to be away from my baby for 40 hours a week plus drive time to pay the bills. In the next few months my goal is to build up my business enough to provide a cushion for maternity leave and then after Holly is born I would like to replace my current income.
I am in business for myself because I love the the product and want to share it with everyone I know. I also want to share the opportunity with as many women as I can. It is so rewarding to me to see the changes in women who get involved in this business. I love to teach and have leadership skills which I am consistently improving upon. I know I will achieve my goal of becoming a director this seminar year.
I am in busiess for myself because I want to earn the career car and I need extra money. Earning a career car would allow me to give my 15 year old sister a car, since I received my first car free and I am the only one that can get her a car and I feel that it is my responsibility to take care of my sister. My sister would have a car that would allow her to take herself to school and work and any other place that she wants or needs to go. I would have a car that would cost very little for the insurance and I could get a new car every two years. I need the extra money because I just graduated with a masters and credential however there are no jobs for teachers. I can use the extra money to pay off my school loan and I could help my husband with more of the bills.
My Goal...I acheived some of it already...to get out that NASTY JOB that was stressing me out soooo much...and to not have to worry about money!!! I now have new goals of becoming a free car driver and a SALES DIRECTOR!!!! YAHOOOO I love this JOB!
I am in business for myself because I love planning things out and having control over what I do with my life. I want to be able to take Sunday's off to spend with my family. I want to have the flexibility to take days off to go on field trips with my children and help in their classrooms. I also want to be able to help support our family financially and not be completely dependent on my husbands job. I want to have a plan B especially in these difficult economic times. Short term specific things I want to provide for financially are getting our front and back yards completed and take the kids to disneyland within the next year.
i just started by business about a month ago. I am 19 years old and I still live with my parents and I will be transferring to UC Davis in 2011. My main goal with this business is to start saving money as to where I can move out into an apartment by then and not have to stress over rent, bill, etc. I want to be comfortable and stress-free when I move out so I am hoping that the extra money will help with all of that. I also wanted all my products for half price.
I started my business to make some extra cash and be around positive women. Now, I'm in business to earn a car before mine bites the dust! And to contribute to purchasing a house with my hubby so we can own our very first home!!! This is a dream of ours and I KNOW my MK business can make it a reality!
I am in business to pay off debt & to buy a house. I also want to leave my J.O.B. so I can have a more flexible schedule. I have always felt that my life was meant for more & I feel that my MK business can help me to achieve more. Maybe working with foster kids or working with kids that need more guidence & support in their lives. That I believe is my true calling.
I started my business when I was laid off from my nursing job, I figured why not, I've ised the prodeuct for years and love it. But now it's so much more to me. It's being able to help other people feel great. A big thing is being my own boss, and setting my own schedule, I'm able to raise my kids as opposed to the day care, I can coach soccer now and volunteer for any field trip I want. It's helping me become a better person, more responsible, more motivated (I'm doing this for me and my family), what greater motivation is there, and when I'm doing it, I get to be me and have fun, there's so much more to get out of it and I intend on getting as much possible, I actually stopped working my JOB, and now am pushing myself harder then I have for anyone else, any other employer. It has given me more self confidence, and when you step out of your comfort zone, you learn that really anything is possible, I might have started my buisness for a less than great reason, but I intend to follow it all the way through, and become the person that I know I can be.
Originally I went into business for myself because I had just been thinking about going back to work after a year and a half off. At the time, I didn't really NEED to work as much as I NEEDED something to do other than sit around the house. My husband was getting tired of being my only friend in town. lol! After starting my business and charging a rather large amount of inventory, I realized that my motivation to work wasn't as large as my office was, overfilled with product. My first year moved slowly, but when I worked, I worked well, so I knew I could do it and I still know I can do it! I just have to match up the two and I have to start working smart. My husband and I added a big amount of debt on top of my MK debt this Summer, so now it is necessary that I help to pay it off! It feels so much better having a purpose rather than a hobby, and October is the first month that I am on my "new plan" to pay off that debt! Other than that, the reason that I'm in business for myself isn't because I necessarily like it, it's that I LOVE the company and everything it stands for! The women I have met that are my peers and my customers have filled something in me that I deeply needed. And for the money portion... I would love to have a a new car, a personal trainer, trips with my girlfriends, vacations with my husband, shoes, purses, jewelry and all the fun STUFF that this business can afford! (I already have the makeup covered) MK came at a really good time in my life and I'm very proud to be a MK girl! ... I just might need a little kick in the butt sometimes! :-) LOL!
I became a consultant in 2000 and quite within months of signing. Why? I didn't have a support system. My husband wanted me home, my Director was in S. Cal and was on the verge of quitting herself, I had no idea what I was doing, and I went into debt purchasing product. It took me over a year to make the decision to start back up again because I was afraid of the same thing happening again. Luckily, I have an awesome Director/friend who encouraged me to try it again. I didn't have any goals or expectations. I figured it wouldn't hurt to give it another shot. If it didn't work out, then I had some product and that was cool. I gave myself a year to see how it worked for me. Well, it's been 5 months now, and I am doing great for the time that I put into my business. I now have goals. I have more self confidence and am happy I started back up again. I enjoy sharing the product and watching the reaction of those who try MK. I have more work to do and I know I will get there. We have an awesome group with great directors and consultants who are positive, outgoing, determined, and helpful. Thank you all for your encouragement. This is all the more reason to continue with MK. Besides, I look forward to my next goal of Red Jacket.
I've decided to go into business for myself because I want to have the life I've always pictured for my family. Specifically, I am going to use the money I make from Mary Kay to pay off all of our debt and then buy a house. I never again want to have to work in corporate America and Mary Kay gives me that freedom.
I'm in this business to make a difference in my family's future. I want to send my kids to college and have all the glitter and glamour I see all the Top Directors getting....I want it too!!
I am in business for myself for the flexibility. Initially I was in to make some money to make up for a 51% pay decrease. Then I ended up with no job at all. I was doing this "in the mean time" until I got a job. Now that I've had a taste of the flexibility and a glimpse of where I can go with the business I've given up the search and I'm all in!!! Why would I ever want someone else dictating my schedule AND my pay? Now, they're both in my hands. :-)
I want to earn an additional 1000 a month to get out of debt, and I would like to be able to pay for my husband and I to go to Boston 4/10 to see our nephew run in the Boston marathon
When I first started my business it was just a hobby. Something fun and earn a little extra cash. In fact I did not really start "Working" my business until this Past April. Now I am working this business for my family. My parents are ill (one with cancer and the other with breathing problems) and I needed something where I had the flexibility to help out with them and my 2 nieces who are like my own children. Let me tell you I have been truely blessed since I have refocused my goals on something for my family. I am honored to be working my business and seeing it take off in a direction that I was not sure I was even ready for. I am now willing and able to take on all challenges. Thank you Janice Ellis for recruiting me, thank you Lisa for being an amazing leader, and thank you Mary Kay for giving us all wonderful opportunities to have this as an option.
(Sharon Turley) I am in business for myself because I like being my own boss! I am working on disciplining myself to really WORK by business. So that I can save enough money for the roof we need! It rained once already!!
In June, my daughter will graduate from UCLA with her Masters! We didn't even celebrate her AA from ARC, so this time we want to spend a week at Disneyland!! So, I have 8 months to earn some serious money!! Luckily, we are behind on getting the taxes done, so there is some money from this year and the one before. The rest is up to me!!!
I am in business for myself so I can (eventually) spend more time with my son, while still earning money. For once, I've found a way to have the best of both worlds.
I am in business for myself to provide for my daughter and myself. I also want my daughter to see what success looks like as well as goal setting, failure, find a way-make a way and never give up attitude as well as BIG GIRL PAY, free car driver with alot of hard work. I want to get up every day and LOVE what I do and be secure that if I need to make extra money this month or next, I CAN DO IT. If I want to go on a special trip and take my whole family, I CAN DO IT. Really, it's to be able to provide basic necessities and then some(meaningful memories).
My husband's business is seasonal(boat repair) and he already works 11-13 hour days monday through friday. I don't want him to have to get a second job if things get bad this winter. Our daughter is a year and a half, I can't bear the thought of not being able give her the things she needs.
I have worked the the dental field for 20+ years and the same office for 10. I feel unfulfilled in this job and I am not really reaping any benefits from it. I want to work at my time, my pay, and for the values that are me. I want to help pay off debt and eventually drive a free car! (after not having but, one car in the household until about 2 yrs ago) that is a real thrill!!
1- my october goal is to have all my sharing appointments done. (i only have 4more left) Also i want to have my 30 faces done by the end of October as well. 2- something that holds me back is my shyness. I am getting over that and need to expand out of my comfort zone. there have been a couple of opertunities were i could have shared Mary Kay business, but then i didnt because i didnt want to step on anyones toes. 3-Im in business for myself becasue i want extra cash flow and provid better for my boys.
